AD-Gifted

One of the best things to do in Orlando, and most romantic, is a champagne experience on The Wheel at ICON Park. It certainly tapped into that soppy side.
On the last leg of our two week Florida road trip we headed over to Kissimmee, which is just south of Orlando. Here you will find ICON Park – a busy entertainment complex with restaurants, shops, bars and attractions. A massive plus was the FREE multi-story parking, which made our visit feel even more relaxed.
(AD) We stayed in Seralago Hotel & Suites Main Gate East, which was the cheapest we could find and a short drive to here and the Disney Parks.

The wheel is unmissable, literally
Something you really can’t miss (just look at it!) is the ICON Wheel. It’s set slap bang in the middle of the action, acting as a beacon of the park. It’s currently the sixth tallest Ferris wheel in the world reaching 400 feet, which is only 43 feet shy of The London Eye. So it’s big and impressive.
Before we knew it, we had collected our tickets, had an obligatory green screen picture, picked up our glass of champagne and walked into our private capsule. It was swift and smooth with smiling staff the whole route. The doors closed and my partner and I were left alone to enjoy the ride.

Getting to know our pod
We had 23 minutes to get to know our pod and enjoy the sweeping views of Orlando. We immediately played around with the tablet, which gave us a map of the surroundings. Not only that, we could learn more about the key sights through descriptions, pictures and videos. We’re massive geeks really, so we loved learning about the landscape.

The Orlando skyline
This was the first proper time we saw the state from above. And it was lovely. The skyline isn’t the most exciting, but you can see quite a distance. You also rise past the entrance building, which blocks part of view until you’re further up in the air. We simply took a seat, clinked our flutes and relaxed with the sunset.
The ride flew by. Before we knew it, we were disembarking the wheel and returning our champagne flutes. We wished it had lasted longer. And that cheesy green screen picture? We politely declined purchasing the very low quality print on exit. But we very much enjoyed our relaxing and romantic flight on The Wheel at ICON Park.
