Six reasons why you should see Six the Musical

Six reasons to see Six the Musical

Have you heard the hype? Six Queens are taking over the world of Musical Theatre, ripping up the rule book and writing their own story. You’ll be familiar with Henry the Eighth and his six wives. But what more do you know about them other than that stupid rhyme? Well here are six reasons you need to make Six your next theatre trip.

Do you enjoy a pop musical? Then you need to check out & Juliet, the newest musical sensation. You might also like Everybody’s Talking About Jamie.

1. Girl Power

It’s extremely exciting to see six women leading the show. Slaying on stage. This Musical tells of their backstory and gives them a voice. It brings out their unique personalities and achievements, and highlights the importance of sisterhood. Even in 2019, we need more women to have the spotlight and I love that the younger generation will look up to these powerful Queens.

2. Pop Sensation

Six has some banging tunes. I am a huge pop fan and this gives you all the feels. From dance tunes to ballads and catchy numbers, it really has it all. Each wife has their own solo but my favourite song goes to Catherine of Aragon with ‘No way’.

3. Gig style

This is not your traditional Musical. Absolutely not. It’s basically a pop concert. You get to enjoy a close up 75 minute gig as the girls light up the stage with energetic performances that could rival Beyonce herself. I wanted to dance more to be honest so let’s see this in an Arena next!

4. Proper funny

In between the musical performances, the Queens have so much banter. With each other and with the audience. There is a lot of tongue in cheek humour to lighten up the story. I was not expecting to laugh so much.

5. Listen and learn

I hated history in school, so I know little to nothing about it. It was more that I didn’t enjoy how it was taught. Boring. But this Musical literally brings history to life. I know all the names of the wives, which I certainly didn’t before. School trips should take note.

6. A Millennial must

It may be set in Tudor times but trust me, it is spoken very much in the 21st century. The wives are young, fun and totally up on their lingo. I want to see more shows that sound like us millennial’s. It immediately feels welcoming and ‘for you’. Language is changing and I’m glad some Musical are reflecting that.

Six is a new age Musical that will reign for a very long time yet.

Six looks amazing, I love the idea of a musical concert combo! Also their costumers are incredible, like Tudor rock or something
